Vendor Manager, Amazon Appstore

Overview:
The Amazon Appstore for Android is looking for an experienced vendor manager to own key inputs for our business including selection, customer experience, and marketing. You will work with existing, high-profile vendors and forge new vendor relationships. You will identify short-term growth opportunities and lay the groundwork for longer-term, strategic opportunities in the category. Our ideal candidate will have deep experience in retail business analytics, strategic thinking, and negotiation in addition to a strong track record in terms improvement, forecasting, relationship building, pricing management, and customer experience improvement in the online space.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain a strategic plan for growing your managed accounts on the Amazon Appstore
  • Manage the key business inputs of selection, price, and promotion to achieve our growth targets
  • Negotiate with vendors to enable growth, profitability, and long-term relationship success
  • Recruit and onboard new vendors to expand the category's selection
  • Identify opportunities for customer experience improvement and partner with internal teams to realize the opportunities in our store
  • Lead cross-functionally and inspire the team to achieve our goals and improve our processes
  • Drive improvements in Amazon's vendor management systems and processes

Basic Qualifications
• 4+ years' experience in business management or eCommerce
• Bachelor's degree

Preferred Qualifications:
• 2+ years' experience in mobile or digital business management
• M.B.A. preferred
• Proven ability to drive units, revenue, and profitability; demonstrated success driving a full P&L and meeting or exceeding quantitative business goals
• Proven ability to build and maintain high-level vendor relationships (with directors and VP's)
• Comfort with and demonstrated success in negotiating complex and high-value agreements
• Demonstrated ability to think strategically and create a viable, long-term business plan
• Strong analytical orientation; comfort using databases and analytical tools and making data-based decisions
• Ownership orientation; ability to internalize goals and create appropriate action plans
• Strong problem-solving skills; the ability to analyze problems and develop actionable and appropriate tactical plans quickly
• Ability to succeed in a fast-paced, innovative, and rapidly evolving industry and business organization
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
