Test & Evaluation Engineer 2\3

Provide instrumentation support to Laboratory Test Operations NW as part of the Laboratory Instrumentation and Data Systems Capability. Support the development, design, operation and maintenance of instrumentation equipment for aerodynamic and propulsion wind tunnels, fuel test facilities, and Integrated Test Vehicle including setting up systems for data acquisition, control, flow visualization, and computing. Provide the oversight of instrumentation measurements and equipment maintenance. Initiate troubleshooting of equipment related problems. Conduct research in test technologies. Prioritize workload to assure the timely completion of customer objectives while insuring safe operations. Document operating procedures and maintaining instrumentation reference materials.

Typical Education/Experience
Level 2 - Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 2 or more years' experience or a Master's degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Level 3 - Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 5 or more years' experience, Master's degree with 3 or more years' experience or PhD degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Other Job related information
This is for multiple positions within Laboratory Instrumentation and Data Systems organization, with openings supporting the Aero/Noise/Propulsion Laboratory (ANP) and the Systems Integration and Test Laboratory (SITL). The selected candidate should have strong technical, people and planning skills. Understand the concept of providing measured data that is traceable to a standard. Work well in a team environment with members from a broad range of organizations. The candidate will provide regular and effective coordination with lab users, customers, peers and local management. Must have an enthusiasm for developing new techniques. The job requires strong organizational skills plus the desire to continuously learn and improve in a team environment are essential. Ability to understand engineering documentation and drawings are required. Must be willing to occasionally work second, third or extended shifts. Must be willing to travel, if required.
