Primary job responsibility is to support engineering requirements for LAN/WAN network services and the corresponding CPE. Performs as account team technical lead by supporting the team in the sales stage including: telecommunications consulting, proposal preparation support, technical presentations to customers, and the analysis and design of Qwest complex products and solutions. Train and educate sales teams on products, processes and systems.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Engineering or a related field and/or 6-10 years of equivalent experience in sales engineering, systems engineering (networking services, telephony, IP networking equipment), and/or sales
Knowledge of LAN/WAN, IP transport, Voice and Voice over IP (VoIP) networks and CPE
Knowledge of multiple vendors of LAN/WAN CPE to include but not limited to Nortel and Cisco
Understanding of traditional telecommunications services such as Long Distance, PRI and Local CO-based Trunking Service as well as next generation IP network
Overall knowledge of PBX and IP PBX design solutions including product determination, sizing, capabilities, etc.
Overall knowledge of Data networking including IP addressing and Data CPE Scope of Works
Ability to work autonomously on multiple projects and associated deliverables.
Time management skills are a critical requirement.
Valid Drivers License with satisfactory driving record.

Preferred Qualifications For Nortel a strong background in the following: Norstar Key Systems and Business Communications Manager (BCM).
For Cisco Systems a strong background in the following: Cisco Call Manager and Call Manager Express, Cisco ISR routers
Current certification/standing as a Cisco IP Telephony Design Specialist, Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Nortel Networks Certified Design Specialist (NNCDS) or Nortel Networks Certified Design Expert (NNCDE).
