Occupational Health & Safety Specialist 2\3
Supports the planning, implementation and assessment of occupational health and safety programs and processes. Drafts health and safety programs that provide consistent approaches to risk reduction and compliance. Investigates safety and health incidents and complaints. Also develops, implements and monitors occupational heath and safety programs and processes. Develops and provides training and instructions. Evaluates the impact of emerging issues, regulations and legislation to company operations. Develops corrective action plan to respond to internal/external audits and inspections. Plans and conducts health and safety audits.

Technical• Applied Health/Safety Science
Basic - General knowledge of occupational health and safety sciences (e.g. chemistry, radiation physics, toxicology, industrial hygiene, etc.) to read, understand, and communicate safety and health information.
Preferred - Complete knowledge of occupational health and safety sciences (e.g. chemistry, radiation physics, toxicology, industrial hygiene, etc.) to understand, analyze, and communicate safety and health information and mitigate safety and health risk.
• Environ/Occ Risk Assessment
Basic - General knowledge of strategies and methodology for conducting preliminary risk assessments for chemical, physical, biological, and environmental hazards using established protocols.
Preferred - Complete knowledge of strategies and methodology for conducting preliminary risk assessments for chemical, physical, biological and environmental hazards using established protocols.

Typical Education/Experience
Level 2 - Technical bachelor's degree and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or a Master's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A technical degree is defined as any four year degree, or greater, in a mathematic, scientific or information technology field of study. Level 3 - Technical bachelor's degree and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or a Master's degree with typically 3 or more years' or a PhD degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A technical degree is defined as any four year degree, or greater, in a mathematic, scientific or information technology field of study.
Other Job related information
Must be a self-starter who exhibits a strong work ethics and initiative with good interpersonal skills. Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment, within a diverse community. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
