Manufacturing Engineer Level 1

Precision Aerospace Component Manufacturer on the north side of Seattle seeks an entry level manufacturing engineer to join its growing team.    This is an exciting "wear a lot of hats" type role focused on improving yields within this precision machining environment.    Qualified candidates will possess an engineering degree (manufacturing or industrial engineering preferred) along with at least 1 year of internship or hands on experience working in a manufacturing environment as a manufacturing/process/industrial engineer.    Ideal candidates will also have some experience working around machine shop equipment.     The focus of this position will be on continuous improvement/lean manufacturing initiatives along with providing key manufacturing engineering support to this fast paced precision machining operation.    Excellent benefits and great growth potential.



JOB SCOPE:



  • Develops and analyzes engineering processes, methods, fixture design, time standards, manpower and machine utilization, material routing and handling methods, tool design and application, etc. to seek improvement and effect changes to reduce cost.

  • Develops and documents manufacturing processes to ensure that parts can be manufactured in a capable cost effective manner.

  • Coordinates projects with the employees involved to obtain required informational data for analysis and value determinations.

  • Drives continuous improvement of existing processes.

  • Provides technical support to operations in the identification and resolution of process-related problems.

  • Provides innovative ongoing efforts for process re-engineering to enhance productivity and increase efficiencies while sustaining quality.

  • Plans, executes, and monitors project tasks and schedules to ensure that company and customer requirements are met.

  • Evaluates and resolves issues that arise; researches and implements solutions when necessary.

  • Attends and contributes toward engineering meetings and other discussions as appropriate such as production, quality, and other management meetings.

  • Responds to Quality in a timely manner on customer complaints by leading the investigations.

  • Supports the inspection efforts to ensure the product meets all customer requirements.

  • Works with supervisors to ensure the manufacturing instructions are clear and understood and provides training as needed.

  • Creates and maintains Manufacturing sketches, Process Control Sheets and other command media used to communicate the requirements of a process or product as needed.

  • Support new product launch and process qualification activities.

  • Demonstrates thorough knowledge of and conformity to internal Quality System Work Instruction requirements that govern engineering operations.

  • Maintains or exceeds production standards through organization and planning.

  • Follows and complies with safety rules, regulations, and work instructions.

  • Accurately completes all required documentation.

  • Meets attendance policy requirements.




  • Requirements:

  • B.S. Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Engineering related degree from an accredited college or university is required.

  • Experiences in CNC Machining preferred.

  • Experienced in drafting in 3D modeling with SolidWorks or other 3D software preferred

  • Understand Lean Manufacturing Techniques and able to apply them in a manufacturing environment.
