Position Purpose
Manager, Executive Onboarding, GLD Leadership development is responsible for implementing strategies, programs and processes to effectively onboard and assimilate newly hired/new to role executives (Directors+) into Avanade's business and culture, This person is responsible for end-to-end program management of the executive onboarding processes and programs, and for ensuring that we onboard, grow and retain our newly acquired talent effectively . This person will work in close collaboration with GLD's various teams, with the larger HR organization, and other business stakeholders from across the organization.
As a key member of GLD, Leadership Development team, the manager, executive onboarding will collaborate closely with the Avanade Chief Leadership officer and others responsible for talent acquisition, talent management and organization development to ensure that all executive onboarding plans are aligned with broader organizational priorities and are enabling defined business strategies.
Additionally, this position will contribute to building the Avanade Leadership Development agenda including Avanade Center for Leadership, with the objective of providing leading edge resources and practices to build Avanade's leadership development bench strength.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide thought leadership to the design and development of the executive onboarding program and develop processes, systems, policies, and tools to implement this program effectively - Design and develop the executive orientation experiences and programs including "Doing Business at Avanade," Avanade's new executive induction program - Align the executive onboarding program with the existing INSPIRE program in collaboration with GLD/field stakeholders, and support the quarterly refresh of Avanade's Quickstart global content. Create complimentary induction/onboarding programs for executives brought into Avanade through merger and acquisitions. - Work with leaders and HR to understand the developmental needs of New-to-Role leaders across the Company and implement appropriate development plans. - Consult with HR and other colleagues to create appropriate executive onboarding off-the-job experiences - Support and implement Avanade's overall Leadership Development program, specifically leaders-teaching-leaders and executive action learning programs. These programs are designed to maximize capability and performance of current leaders and leadership teams and build the necessary pipeline of future leadership talent - Apply best practices of the industry to help build and support the Avanade Center for Leadership. - Directly coach defined leadership talents; and facilitate coaching engagements with external consultants when necessary - Manage specific leadership team development interventions utilizing industry best practices - Assist in leadership assessments, measure and report business results
Qualifications
Skills/ Knowledge/ Experience Required :
Years of Experience
- 5-7 + years of experience in leadership development with preference for someone with a deep field/business background in technical services industry who wants to share best practices with their peers.
Management Experience
- 3-5 years
Education
- BA or BS degree is required; MA, MS or MBA (or the equivalent) is preferred. Fields of study can include, but are not limited to, all areas of Business, as well as Psychology, Education, Communication, and/or Human Resources
Other Skills/Knowledge
- Demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships with a diverse "customer" base, including senior managers and leaders, HR, consultants, etc. This includes good listening skills and the ability to address conflicts productively. - Demonstrated effective presentation and facilitation skills, - Preference for someone with a deep business background in technology and consulting - Strong, results-orientation and commitment to quality and performance. - Leverages the strengths in others. Models this behavior for leaders, and coaches them to do the same. - Balances the need for global consistency with local customization, recognizing the value to each approach and finding common ground if there are differences.
Required Certifications
- Certification(s) in Interpersonal & Personality Instruments i.e. MBTI, Consulting Skills; Executive coaching, 360, facilitation skills, team building are preferred.
