General Summary
This position at Technical Glass Products is responsible for set-up and machining of production parts. Materials include carbon steel, stainless steel and aluminum. This position works cross functionally to ensure on-time and quality delivery. As the machinist, this position is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the equipment.
Essential Functions
Machine precision parts for production utilizing a variety of machine tools.
Monitor machine operations as parts are processed to insure quality and accuracy.
Maintain all manufacturing aides within the machining work cell to insure accuracy and repeatability of setups.
Reports all issues and inconstancies to the programmer.
Work with operators to prioritize operations to achieve schedule.
Inspect own work and others using precision tools such as calipers, micrometers, depth gages and other measuring devices.
Perform set up of machines and operates CNC machining & cutting equipment.
Assists in the design of tooling and fixtures.
Maintain all machines as recommended by the manufacturer and as directed.
Adheres to Company Safety Policies
Performs work in accordance with Quality Assurance Program policies.
Organize work in the work area.
Verify all operations have been completed as specified on the documents.
Requirements:
Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills
Associates Degree in Machine Tool Technology, 2-year degree in Machine Technology or equivalent in experience.
Minimum experience of seven years in a manufacturing environment.
Minimum of five years CNC machining experience.
Experience developing tools and fixtures.
Experience manufacturing to ISO 9000 standards preferred.
Ability to work unsupervised.
Ability to setup and operate machine tools: CNC milling machine, CNC cutting, and other fabricating equipment.
Knowledge of machining tight tolerance parts.
Demonstrate a strong knowledge of workholding.
Must be familiar with ASME and GD&T drawing standards.
Able to clearly communicate and document issues that arise and follow-up to insure the issue has been resolved.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Strong analytical skills.
Demonstrate independent judgment and initiative.
