Job Description:
The Fabrication Supervisor will be responsible for the successful management of the Fabrication Department, including planning, scheduling, training, and execution of all fabrication jobs. This is a hands-on position. The Fabrication Supervisor will work along side fabrication technicians to fabricate Lumicor products. This position also contributes to the development and implementation of the organizational strategies, policies and practices.
This Position reports to the Plant Manager
Job Duties:
Analyzes production requirements and processes to determine required capacity and shop loads. Is aware of equipment, personnel capacity, and material availability.
Creates, develops and communicates a work schedule by continually analyzing order against delivery expectations. Works with Production Control to insure standard labor hours are accurate.
Ensures Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System integrity and accuracy by reviewing system data and updating/correcting to assure that products are built to the latest released revision and that all required changes have been integrated into work orders.
Coordinates interdepartmental activity with QA, Material Planning, Facilities, and Production in meet and improve On-Time Delivery to customers.
Meets daily with the CNC Programmer to review all new fabrication orders for completeness and signs off that the job can be completed within the time frames allowed.
Inspects all finished Fabrication jobs as part of Lumicor’s QA system.
Leads, trains and schedules Fabrication employees.
Leads use and enhancement of ERP system to automate and improve processes.
Responsible for establishing and documenting standard SOP’s for all Fabrication offerings.
Works with R&D department on new products and fabrication techniques.
Maintains a clean, well organized, and safe fabrication shop at all times.
Requirements:
Skills / Knowledge
Ideal candidates will have experience fabricating PETG and acrylic materials to be able to seal, polish, glue, route, bend and form.
Job duties will include cutting with saws and routers.
Responsibilities require that candidates be comfortable working with plastics adhesives, be familiar with the flame polishing process, and able to read blueprints.
Candidates must be self-motivated, able to work with little to no supervision, and comfortable working independently.
Demonstrated plastics background is desired in prior work experience.

Attention to detail and willingness to learn new skills
Plastic fabrication or finish carpentry background
