General Position Overview:
This position involves both existing and New Product Development of both wired and wireless, Electro-Mechanical communication products.
Our Client is seeking an Electromechanical Design Engineer experienced not only in product drafting/design, including circuit card and associated assemblies, but also hands-on qualification and testing work once the product is built from conception.
The ideal candidate for this position will offer 2D and 3D Product Design experience with Engineering schematics of circuit boards/cards (PCB), associated wiring and harnesses and Box Build Assemblies.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Electromechanical Design Engineer:
In association with Sales, will create conceptual Product Designs for new Electro-Mechanical communication products, both wired and wireless.
Performs:
Component and vendor selection.
Product Validation and Verification Testing for new designs.
Provides Engineering support to:
Other departments including Materials, Quality, Sales and Manufacturing.
Existing customers as required.
Maintains and updates Engineering documentation, including AS 9100 and ISO requirements, as needed.
Utilizes AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks to produce 2D and 3D Engineering schematics of circuit boards/cards PCB, associated wiring and harnesses, and box build assemblies.
Redesigns and maintains existing product(s).
Creates and maintains Vantage" part numbers and Bills of Material.
Processes Engineering Change Requests (ECR).

Requirements:
Required Skills for this Electromechanical Design Engineer position include the following:
AA Degree or greater in Electrical and/or Electro-Mechanical Technology
3+ years of experience in a High-Standard Technology (e.g. Military/ISO/AS) Product Development/Manufacturing environment
Must have a thorough working knowledge of accepted Drafting practices in both 2D and 3D environments
Ability to conceptualize and create new parts from customer-supplied specifications, starting with a "blank sheet of paper"
Able to create Manufacturing drawings with CAD software, including AutoCAD and SolidWorks 3-Dimensional programs Software knowledge:
Skill and experience with AutoCAD Solid Works Vantage, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel, Word)
Must be able to work with minimal supervision
