Accountant
Essential Duties:
40% ST external financial statements; 30% Subarea statements; 20% NTD Reporting, ORCA Reporting, 10% Monthly Close: accruals, grants, UP Accounting
Requirements:
Minimum Requirements (include education, experience and/or equivalency):
Knowledge of financial reporting and accounting, ability to document work and follow directions, knowledge of GAAP, GASB, FASB Financial Statement Preparation.
Desired candidate should have big 4 accounting experience and have been an in-charge or lead on medium to large sized audits. Should have advanced working paper and financial statement preparation skills and able to work with a diverse team, facilitating the timely completion of work products not directly under their control. Must have initiative and be able to work with minimal directions and strong computer skills.
The candidate will be assisting in the preparation of various external financial reports for Sound Transit. The reports are:
- Sound Transit external financial statements including notes to the financial statements and supplemental schedules and MD&A.
- Sound Transit subarea statements including notes and supplemental schedules
- ORCA Regional financial statements including notes to the financial statements, supplemental schedules & MD&A
- National Transit Database Report
In addition to compiling these reports, the candidate must be able to prepare journal entries for required reporting adjustments and to document their work. The candidate will also need to prepare the statement of cash flow as required under GASB for the Sound Transit and ORCA Statement
The candidate may also be needed to support the monthly/year end close process that may include performing analysis and journal entries related to revenue and expense accruals, fixed asset capitalization, CIP accounting, federal grant accounting and overhead analysis.

Knowledge of E-1 and Crystal Reporting

CPA/CMA, MS Excel – immediate level or higher, Big 4 or mid-tier accounting firm experience
