Seeking a dynamic, hands-on leader to manage the accounting department. The Accounting Manager will report directly to the CEO and will be a key player in the budgeting and forecasting process, as well as month end closing and project analysis. In addition, the Accounting Manager will be responsible for accounting controls, financial analysis, and general accounting management. Ensures accurate and timely accounting and reporting, and provides analysis of key financial indicators which contribute to company profitability and planning. Also responsible for day to day A/R, A/P, purchasing and General Ledger maintenance. Provide backup for Payroll duties.

This person will be expected to drive positive change, including evaluating and streamlining of existing processes and controls.

Strong knowledge of financial instruments, familiarity with valuation inputs and techniques, and understanding of impact of market factors. Financial statement preparation and analysis in accordance with GAAP. Functionality and operation of automated systems/tools sufficient to effectively perform job duties Knowledge of organization structure, specific regulations, policies and procedures Analytical techniques, processes, and procedures, particularly financial analysis Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access software, Everest and Quick books Demonstrated Ability: Strong written and oral communication, particularly related to technical accounting interpretations Collaboration across diverse groups (legal, tax, regulatory, etc.) and balancing of multiple objectives Provide effective guidance and performance feedback to lower-level analysts. Independently plan and conduct routine and non-routine financial analysis/reporting projects. Ability to balance competing priorities to maximize effectiveness Experience/Education Requirements: Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance (or related field or work experience may be substituted) MBA, CPA or equivalent, FRM or CFA preferred A minimum of 5+ years experience in technical accounting research, financial analysis and financial reporting.
